Fundamentals – Course duration – 7 weeks
No matter how long ago you had a baby – once you are post partum you are always post partum. And often, even years later, our bodies don’t work they way we want them to, because we weren’t given the right guidance to begin with.
This is the ideal environment to get the foundations of your core completely sorted.
We teach you:
- how to connect to your pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles (this is assessed and taught individually so no one misses out). Establishing these connections and then knowing how to progress your exercises is how we eliminate that ‘jelly belly’ (it often doesn’t go away until you get the hang of this stuff).
- how to use your diaphragm through breathing to get a better activation through the pelvic floor, as well as a complete release (which is essential for recovery and not many of us know how to do this!)
- how to monitor your own abdominal separation, and the first 2 phases to complete healing DRAM (diastasis recti). Tissue repair to the abdominal wall takes longer than 7 weeks. Don’t stress if it isn’t 100% – it will be well on it’s way, if not healed.
- the very best exercises surrounding the core for the rest of the body – the abdominal muscles will never fully heal if they are only used on their own. We teach you how to co-ordinate with your spine, legs and arms – so you can go out and lift weights, run or jump without fear of leaking, heaviness or aches and pains
Class numbers are small so that you are looked after during every session. We check on your individual progress every week and tweak the class according to what you specifically need.
